Kofi Takyi appointed as GNAAS National President

Mr. Kofi Takyi of University of Education, Winneba (UEW), has been appointed as the National president of the Ghana National Association of Adventist Students (GNAAS) for the 2018/2019 academic year. Mr. Takyi has pass through the leadership ranks of GNAAS. He has served on many committees of GNAAS. Having been a fellowship vice president, he rose to the office of the Union President and doubled as the National vice President Administration and now the National President.
His appointment is not surprising to members of the association owing to his rich experience with GNAAS over the years. The national secretariat of GNAAS has always been rotated among some tertiary institutions such as University of Ghana, Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology and University of Cape Coast. However, for the first time in 36 years, University of Education, Winneba GNAAS branch is now hosting the national secretariat of GNAAS. Thus, all the four national executives are from GNAAS-UEW.
The appointment of Mr. Kofi Takyi as president, Mr. Emmanuel Osei Nkansah, former GNAAS-UEW president as the secretary, Mr. Oliver Dankwa Boateng, former zonal coordinator as the coordinating secretary and Mr. Emmanuel Owusu-Kwarteng has been chiefly hailed by the members due to their affable nature and total commitment in service. Members are highly optimistic that the new executives will live up to expectation with the direction of the Holy Spirit.
Mr. Takyi, giving his acceptance speech at the 36th GNAAS congress at CCB auditorium, KNUST indicated that God is with GNAAS and urged all members to give their all in serving in the master’s vineyard to reflect this academic year’s theme, “All or Nothing” .
